A remarkable and moving pro-life display took place in Chile on October 2nd that beautifully and poignantly displayed the humanity of the unborn child.
The women of the Reivindica Feminist Movement filled the streets of the capital and gave their unborn babies a voice by letting the sound of their heartbeats be heard loud and clear. The women strapped fetal heart monitors to their bellies and amplified the sound of their children’s heartbeats using megaphones as they marched through the streets.

CFAM reported on the event, stating, “Coordinated by the national NGO Reivindica, an organization that aims to empower ‘different’ voices of women (meaning, the voices not considered by mainstream pro-abortion feminists), pregnant Chilean women gathered in Plaza de la Constitución, then marched to the government buildings. But this time, the women did not speak. They carried loudhailers, which broadcasted the sounds of their unborn children’s heartbeats.”
The organization released an incredibly moving video to go along with their campaign called “La Voz de Corazon” or “the Voice of the Heart.”
As one participant stated, “Abortion activists lost all their words. They watched in silence: the voice of those hearts was an unanswerable question.”
The British Heart Foundation recently released new research that shows the human heart begins beating earlier than previously though- at only 16 days after conception. The march of pregnant mother in Chile helps to emphasize the reality that, even though the unborn baby may not be visible to the outside world, they are still very much alive and just as human as you or I.
